On 28th November 2023, Dr. Christopher Moran hosted a Reception & Dinner together with the National Portrait Gallery at Crosby Moran Hall, on the subject of “William Dobson: Serjeant-Painter to King Charles I”. The Keynote Speakers were Catharine MacLeod, 17th Century Curator, National Portrait Gallery and Tabitha Barber, Curator of English Art, Tate Britain.

In 1988, Crosby Hall was purchased out of public ownership by Dr. Christopher Moran, who embarked on a project to put Crosby Hall back into its historical context in terms of architecture. For the 800th anniversary of the Lord Mayor’s parade in the City of London, Ireland was represented in the parade for the first time by inclusion of the Mace from the 1765 Irish House of Commons and the Lord Mayor of Dublin’s ceremonial coach.
