State Visit of the President of Ireland marked by dinner at Crosby Moran Hall

The State Visit of President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins to the United Kingdom in April 2014 was another historic occasion in the journey toward peace across the Island of Ireland. Her Majesty The Queen welcomed the President of Ireland and Mrs. Higgins in a series of meaningful events and programmes.

Following a Ceiliúradh (Celebration) at The Royal Albert Hall attended by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, ministers, peace-makers and representatives from across the Island of Ireland and Great Britain gathered at Crosby Moran Hall for a late evening dinner and fellowship. Such had been the spirit of the celebration, the main course of the dinner at Crosby Moran Hall was served at 1 a.m.

Chairman of Co-operation Ireland, Dr. Christopher Moran, owner of Crosby Moran Hall hosted the full table. In attendance were British Ambassador to Ireland Sir Julian King, Tánaiste and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Ireland Eamon Gilmore, First Minister Peter Robinson MLA, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness MLA, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland The Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP, Rt Hon Arlene Foster MLA, dignitaries, and friends of Co-operation Ireland.
